Clara provided more than I could have ever dreamed of. Worth every dollar! She was a dream to work with! So open to suggestions and changes I wanted, and truly listened to me to make my vision come true. I felt so comfortable with her and trusted her every step of the way!
Love story
How did you and your husband meet?
We met in our final year of university.
When did you know he was the one?
Pretty early on! After being friends for a year, I knew he had good values and a good heart and the rest is history.
How did he ask you to marry him?
Star gazing over the Tasman Lake in Mount Cook National Park
What was the biggest source of inspiration while planning your wedding?
Good food, lots of drink and the best vibes! We wanted a relaxed and simple wedding filled with love, warmth and laughs. And of course, a banging dance floor!
What was your most memorable moment from your day?
Forgetting his ring, and putting a Korowai around him instead. Spur of the moment but so meaningful. Also our first look – Abbas teared up and I felt so beautiful!
Did you have an idea in mind of what you wanted your dress to look like?
I sure did – I had some inspiration but needed someone to pull it all together into one vision which Clara was able to nail!
What was your absolute biggest challenge prior to purchasing your wedding dress?
Being able to pick all my favourite elements and put them into one dress.
As Gen is based in Wellington we started the process with a video consultation and the sketch. Once we locked in the final design she sent through her measurements and the mockup dress was created! From there we made some adjustments to the neckline and got started in the real fabric. It was such a pleasure working with Gen!
